My name is Sarah Farr and I am a keyboard and piano teacher based in Horsham, West Sussex. My life long love of music started with learning the piano and trumpet as a child, playing at home as well socially in jazz bands and orchestras.
I trained as a primary teacher, with music as my specialism and have worked for a number of years in primary schools as a music coordinator as well as teaching specialist class music lessons. I have 20 years of experience of teaching piano and keyboard lessons and have led a team of piano and keyboard teachers throughout West Sussex.
I believe music lessons are something that everyone can benefit from. I currently teach a range of ages, from reception children to adults, as well as a range of abilities, from complete beginners to Grade 8.
Every student is an individual, with their own particular musical interests, learning styles and progression rates and I will tailor my teaching to meet their individual needs. I teach a range of musical styles, including Rock and Pop, easy listening, classical and jazz, as well as music theory and improvisation.
I also work with students to achieve their individual goals. These may be:
- learning an instrument for relaxation or for the fun if developing a new skill,
- needing support with the performing aspects of their GCSE or BTEC course work
- enjoying the challenge of music grades.
